Week 13 - Redesign Supply Chain Processes
In this lecture, which is the last lecture, Helen mentioned the redesign of supply chain processes.
The supply chain is the flow of materials, information, money, and services from raw material suppliers through factories and warehouses to the end customers.
There are several challenges of supply chain, which are the misalignments of:
1) e-Process;
2) Information coordination; and
3) knowledge sharing.
Because of these misalignment, a redesign of supply chain process is necessary.
There are several steps to do that, which are:
1) scoping the supply chain by defining the boundaries of the supply chain process and its various scenarios and sub-processes;
2) identifying the main partner interface process and drawing out an interaction diagram;
3) design partner interface process that can reduce the misalignments in the supply chain process;
4) estimating expected impacts by analysis of financial and operation impact; and
5) reaching, sharing and disseminating the agreement among supply chain partners on the partner interface process specification.
